Fall Family Portraits | 3 Things Your Photographer Wants You to Know

Fall Family Portraits | 3 Things Your Photographer Wants You to Know!

  1. Book Early!

Most clients want a weekend session, in October or November, and booking early ensures you get the time and date that works best for your family! Booking early also gives you plenty of time to plan your outfits, pick a dreamy session location, and time to book your hair and makeup!

2. Get that dreamy light!!

Know when Golden hour is on the date you prefer for your family session and plan accordingly!! As a natural light portrait photographer, I LOVE to photograph all my sessions during golden hour! That golden, glowy, light is the hour before sunset, or the hour just after sunrise. You can use a sunrise and sunset calculator to gauge when this will be, and plan around your work schedule accordingly! I’ve started sessions as early as 3:30 pm!

3. Know your photographer’s turn around time!

Every photographer is going to have a little different turn around time. Knowing this ahead of time will help you decide when you need to book your session! If you are planning to send out holiday cards, or as Christmas gifts for instance, booking early to ensure you have time to order, print, and mail them out is key. If you plan to get your photo’s done to create a cute gallery wall, or use for social media, you may be able to book a little later into the season!

There you have it!

3 things your photographer wants you to know when booking your fall family portraits!

Happy fall y’all!
