Welcoming Sage to the Family
an in home, lifestyle session
Phoenix, Arizona
I don’t often take on lifestyle sessions due to my schedule, but when a friend and past client requests, I always try my best to make room for a special session like this!
I met Jerica in high school, and our parents still live a couple of blocks apart. She is younger than me, thus, not in many of my classes in school growing up. But we have a lot in common! We both pursued nursing as our degree’s after high school, and we both work/ed as Labor Nurses! We also live a lot of our personal life in the same manner, and it was so fulfilling to see her in new role as mama to two! Even more special, I photographed her Maternity Session when she was expecting their firstborn!
Jerica has a passion for educating and supporting other mama’s. So it was truly so wonderful to see her in action with her two little girls, and husband! They were such a great team taking turns with baby Sage, and their toddler, Solmarah.
Solmarah was just the sweetest little girl! She was giving me all sorts of hugs, and really LOVING on her baby sister! Sage was a dream baby, and tolerated all the commotion without a peep! Jerica and I were discussing how we wish we could be the mother we are now, when we had our first born. We wish we could turn back time…be more relaxed, enjoy our babies more, and just know that we are doing great loving our babies just the way we are!
That’s part of her passion, helping new mom’s grow into their new roles of motherhood. Helping them to trust their intuition, and really encourage them on their journey’s.
It was so refreshing to chat with her during our session! Talking with another mama is always amazing, and even more so as we got to share our ideas and talk about our mutual passions of encouraging other women!
After our session was over, I even got to have a tour of their home garden and chicken coop! We plan to have chickens in the near future, and want to start a garden as well, so it was really fun to see theirs in action, and get some “I wish I knew this, then” tips! I even got a bag of delicious home grown veggies, and a carton of fresh eggs to bring home and share with my family. Talk about hospitality!
Kirk and Jerica,
Thank you so much for trusting me to capture your special memories of welcoming your new baby girl to the family. I truly enjoyed getting to know your family, hearing your birth story, and watching you parent. You are doing an amazing job, and it really shows with how loving and genuine your children are (yes, even Sage, the sweet little dream baby!)
I sincerely hope to hang out on the regular, and have experienced chicken owners and gardeners like you by my side to guide me through our journey 😉
