Spring in the Desert Maternity Session

Makayla, an Arizona girl, met Derrick on a church trip to Ohio, in his home town! Avid travelers, outdoor lovers, hikers, and joyful souls, they have spent time living in Derricks home state, and have now relocated to Arizona. We planned their Maternity Session in the gorgeous Scottsdale, Arizona desert! We had a lovely spring evening, with a soft breeze, and temperatures below 90! That’s amazing this time of year! We hiked while enjoying the beautiful desert views, large saguaros, and dreamy sunset!

Makayla looked stunning in her soft purple dress, and Derrick wore a light blue shirt, with khaki colored pants, the best pairing for spring vibes! I LOVE a spring color palette! They are expecting their first born, a baby girl, in a few short weeks!

Makayla’s sister in law was in town for her baby shower, the following day. So she joined us during their session, and got to enjoy all the gorgeous desert scenery, too! What a special weekend, to have your maternity session and your baby shower!! So much love is surrounding them as they prepare to welcome their sweet little girl!

As I photographed some images of Makayla alone, Derrick looked on from the side, with an adoring smile on his face. He told her how beautiful she looked! They truly made an intentional decision to enjoy every single moment of their maternity session, soaking it all in!

Thank you so much for choosing me to capture your precious memories! Pregnancy is such a miracle, it is an honor to witness the beauty before me, and to make these moments a keepsake for you! These memories, as images that you can share with your daughter as she grows! And remind her of how much she was loved, even before she was in your arms!

I am praying for you as you finish the final weeks of pregnancy, for your delivery, and transition to your new roles as mama and daddy! The sweetest season of life!!!
