Paradise Valley Maternity Session

Kea had such a beautiful vision for her Maternity session here in the sunny Paradise Valley, Arizona! She wanted to capture some sweet images in a gorgeous milk bath filled with soft tones and large floral blooms. She then wanted to have some of her memories of her growing baby bump out in the Arizona Desert!

The milk bath portion of Kea’s session was at a stunning home up in the hills of Paradise Valley. The tuscan inspired balcony overlooked all of Scottsdale and Phoenix, with mountain views in every direction. We had the pleasure of photographing some of my favorite images on the balcony as the milk bath was being prepared inside! The final images remind me of being on a gorgeous vacation to Italy.

Kea chose the most beautiful floral blooms for her Milk bath session. Large peonies, hydrangeas, baby’s breath, all mixed in with long stems of eucalyptus- adding in the perfect amount of greenery and the most amazing scent!  The tones of the florals she chose were perfect for the light and airy feel of a Milk bath session! Soft pinks, white’s, and greens. Her lace robe completed the look- and I would say it was the perfect mix of classy, and elegant!

Once we finished the milk bath portion, Kea had a wardrobe change back into her stunning beige gown. Beige was the absolute perfect color for the Desert! The way neutrals play with light, especially when they are slightly transparent, is just so stunning.

The movement of the dress and her hair in the monsoon winds gave the most romantic feel to the imagery. She chose a beautiful bouquet which added so much visual interest and freshness to the desert!

Summer Monsoon season blessed us with that beautiful breeze, and an absolutely stunning sunset! Storm clouds gathered behind Kea and her Husband as they giggled, kissed and soaked in this amazing time in their lives. I just loved their sweet and genuine personalities! We had so much fun! Some of my favorite images of Kea are when she’s naturally laughing at something her husband said or did, and having a genuinely fun time together!

Not only did Kea’s session have a feel of Romance, she was also fierce. When I look through her gallery I see a glowing mother. A strong mother. Fierce, yet soft and loving. Talking with Kea about her birth desires and pregnancy was possibly the most fulfilling moments of the entire day for me. I absolutely LOVE hearing what women value in their birth experiences. I love to support women during their pregnancy, birth and post partum journeys. All women deserve to feel their power, and that their needs and wants are heard and validated. I am already so proud of her for her decisions so far, and I know she is going to do absolutely amazing when labor comes and she birth’s her beautiful, surprise gender baby!
