Are you a business looking to hire a brand photographer or plan your brand photoshoot? This blog post we are going to talk through how to make sure the photographer is a good fit for your needs, as well as tips to planning your photoshoot like a Pro!
Let’s start with choosing a Photographer. Here are some things to consider when booking a photographer for your Brand Photoshoot.
Portfolio and Style
What is the photographer’s style and does it align with your brand’s image?
Can you see examples of their previous work, especially in your industry?
Experience and Expertise
How experienced is the photographer with brand photography?
Do they have experience working with businesses similar to yours?
Investment and your Budget
Be sure to ask what is included in the pricing (e.g., number of photos, retouching, usage rights)?
And ask if there are any additional fees or costs you should be aware of? (Studio rentals, prop rentals, etc)
Be sure to know if a photographer fits in your budget before booking, or save up for booking a photographer you love!
Once you’ve found a photographer that checks all the boxes of a style you love, experience you feel comfortable with, and saving for or working with someone within your budget, it’s time to start planning your Brand Photoshoot!
Process and Planning
Be sure to talk with your photographer about this, but I will share a peek into how I plan photoshoots with my brand clients…
A Brand Questionnaire: So I can learn about your brand, ideal client and goals for your photoshoot.
Location Planning: We narrow down where you want your photoshoot to take place based off of your goals and needs for your final images. This could be outdoors, in your storefront, at a studio, and in some cases a mixture of these!
Customized Shot List: I then create a customized shot list with you. We talk about what shots will happen in which location and which outfits. We will break down the timeline of the session so we are all on the same page of what shots are needed where, when to swap scenes/outfits etc to really maximize our time together.
Rentals: If a studio rental is needed, or any props, I help curate the space and find the props needed if you do not already have them! We work together to be sure your vision comes to life in your images.
Collaboration: We work as a team! If you need help styling or visualizing how to tell your brand story, we brainstorm together. When the session date arrives you are feeling excited, and well prepared to capture exactly what you need!
The day of the photoshoot is really fun. You’ve done all the prep work ahead of time and now it’s time to enjoy the moment and be true to your brand during your photoshoot! The joy and fun really shines through in the images. This is a stress free day, because you are well prepared and know exactly what to expect!
