Mickie’s Serene Arizona Maternity Session by the River was so beautiful. She wore a blush dress, which layered perfectly around her sweet bump, and caught the current of the water just right, making her look effortlessly beautiful!

It may be Winter in Arizona, but Fall showed up in the best way for her Maternity Session! The tree’s were glimmering in the sunset, the soft sounds of the current, and the sweet glow Mickie exuded was just perfect.

Photographing Mickie’s Maternity Session was so special for me. I have worked with Mickie for the last 5 years as Labor and Delivery Nurses. We were assigned to the same weekend at our hospital, and if you aren’t in the nurse world, that’s basically like being in a sisterhood, a sorority… We’ve been through countless things together, and we’ve seen some thing’s that are just so magical in the birth world! She’s always come to my rescue when I’ve needed her, and she maaaay have caught a baby or two for me when I didn’t have my gloves on yet, and she did LOL. (Babies come when they want to, and sometimes, midwives and doctor’s aren’t there yet!)

This isn’t the first time I’ve had Mickie in front of my camera either! I was blessed to photograph Mickie helping to deliver her Nephew! She was able to help the OBGYN catch, and I was lucky enough to be there to photograph their family’s beautiful birth story! While those pictures were amazing, it is an entirely new feeling to see her in her new role as a mama in front of my lens!

She and her hubby decided not to find out the gender of their sweet baby! + I can not wait to find out if this little bundle of love is a he or a she! Either way, I know Mickie and Zach have prayed so hard, and waited so long for this season of life. I am thrilled to see Mickie so happy and genuinely radiating joy!

Pregnancy during a pandemic cannot be easy. I am so glad I got to have some time one on one with her to celebrate this sweet miracle, and just let her have a moment of normalcy in pregnancy. To document this season of life. A moment in time where she was able to just relax, breathe, and feel all the feels.

I know I felt them too. The river was so peaceful. The weather was perfect. It was like Mother Nature was there, subtly in the background; Mickie had the spotlight, radiating that motherhood glow!

Thank you so much for allowing me to photograph this sweetest season of life for you! It was an absolute honor! You are a stunning mama-to-be, and I can not wait to see you in your new role, once baby S is here! I will be here, celebrating you every step of the way, and cheering you on! Already so proud of you girlfriend! Baby S is so blessed to have you and Zach as parents!
