Desert Engagement Session

Photographing Lynn + Jose’s Desert Engagement Session in Scottsdale, Arizona, was filled with a dreamy sunset glow.

The subtle, earthy tones of the gorgeous Arizona Desert, mixed with Lynn’s dress, and Jose’s suit, were the perfect combination! Surrounded by beautifully raw and imperfect boulders, towering Saguaros and dripping sunset light, the result of photographing Lynn + Jose’s love was warm, fresh and fun.

Lynn was referred to me by another local photographer, Daniele, which is always one of the highest compliments ever! She and Daniele used to teach together, and were “work besties”… When another photographer refers you her work bestie, you savor every single second loving on amazing humans like these two. I feel beyond blessed to have captured their Engagement Session.

Lynn and Jose were so so fun to photograph. They were the perfect balance of fun, flirty, and fire! Which was totally needed to endure an Engagement Session, in the middle of summer, in the Arizona Desert!

It was a pleasant surprise for us that we actually had a semi cooler day, in the low 100 degree’s, and a breeze during their session! The way the breeze caught Lynn’s flowy floral dress was so dreamy. It swept through her hair so softly, and swished her dress ever so perfectly. My favorite kind of movement in a photograph.

It’s no secret that most men don’t love getting photo’s done. But when your girl looks THIS good, and you get to spend most of it twirling, kissing, and giggling, we usually win them over by the end + Jose was definitely on team “that was actually fun!” by the end!

After photographing what might possibly be my favorite Engagement Session to date, and meeting such a kind hearted, loving couple, I can’t even wait for their intimate Fall Wedding! Lynn has been the most relaxed bride, she is not only planning a wedding during a pandemic, but also working as a teacher-through a pandemic. She has been so positive, and amazing through every single step of planning her wedding to Jose. Their peaceful, positive and excited demeanor is just another reason why I firmly believe Love wins. Love prevails through all. Through pandemics, through the hardships of marriage, the changing seasons of life, such as raising babies, and growing old together. Love. Wins.

It was beyond amazing to meet you both in person, finally! Your session was SO SO fun, and a soul healing experience for me. Hiking the serene mountains with you, talking about your wedding plans, your love for one another, it was just what I needed. I loved the calm of this day, the breeze, the amazing sunset, the sweet families of quail that didn’t stir as we walked by. But most of all, I loved your love! So sweet, and fun-loving! I can not wait to photograph your elegant, intimate, wedding this Fall!
