A Modern Downtown Phoenix Maternity Session | Sarah and Nat

Sarah and Nat were such a fun couple to photograph! They wanted a different, modern vibe for their Maternity Session, so we went with a Downtown Phoenix location! We started with some elegant and timeless images for Sarah’s first outfit; a deep green that she looked absolutely stunning in! I think you will all agree, she is just glowing!

Before changing outfits, we snuck up to get some rooftop views with dreamy light and the cityscape behind them. Always one of my favorite views downtown! After a quick outfit change into a stunning pink dress- we headed down to the Roosevelt Row art district to find some fun and funky vibes!

A really fun thing about the art district downtown is that the murals often change- some are “regulars”, but many times I go down there and something is a little bit different than the last time I was there. Making it a really fun location to photograph at- each gallery has it’s own unique backdrop, and I love when my client’s choose what art speaks to them! Sarah and Nat chose this music scene, and I absolutely loved it! It gave me such a fun and timeless feeling, almost like transporting me back in time. I made quite a few of these images into black and white’s, because, I imagine their children and grand children looking at these images and just really seeing how fun and in love Sarah and Nat are. The backdrops could be from many era’s and stand the test of time! You better believe we did some dancing photo’s in front of that wall. Can you just hear the music playing in your own head? What type of music do you hear?

One of my absolute favorite images of Sarah and Nat is below- one where they’re just walking together and having fun, enjoying making memories of celebrating their baby! The smile on their faces brings so much joy!

A memory that stands out in my mind from their session, is the way Nat was looking on when I took photo’s of Sarah by herself. He stood beside me admiring the love of his life as she carries their sweet baby girl. Sweet husband moments always get me in the feels! I won’t share the news of their little girl’s name yet (I’ll update this post once she has arrived, just in case it’s a surprise to any one!), but I can tell you- her name is SO cute!

Sarah and Nat,

I had so much fun with you two during your Maternity session! I will be thinking of you as you await her arrival! I hope you two had as much fun as I did, and that you went out for a night on the town at one of the amazing restaurants we passed by as we walked the art district! Maybe a cute date night idea for the future once she’s here and you can officially cheers to each other and (Sarah can finally) have a drink 😉 ! Thank you both for choosing me to capture these memories of your growing family! It is truly an honor!!
