Arizona Superstition Mountain Engagement Session

Majestic views, and perfect Arizona Winter weather surrounded Deanna and Will at their Superstition Mountain Engagement Session.

Deanna and Will are not Arizona Native’s; she from New York, and he, Montana. They both appreciate the beauty of the Arizona desert, and have a love of outdoors. They have a tribe of adorable dogs- and I knew they were my favorite kind of people when we did our online meeting as we began to plan their Wedding, when their dogs came in the room behind them and were just feeling right at home! Dog lovers just get each other 😉

At their engagement session I asked, how on earth did you decide where you would get married? Living in Arizona, but having family, memories and friends in both New York and Montana? They said they decided they’d fly to each state to celebrate their Engagement with each set of loved one’s, and then have their Wedding here in their current home state! I love that idea! Triple the Engagement Parties, and getting a trip in to see family and friends.

Will and Deanna decided on a desert Engagement session, and to showcase the true beauty of the Arizona landscape, they chose the Superstition mountains. They are some of my favorite mountains here in AZ, because they truly take your breath away. The different colors, and the way the sun lights up the mountain range in warm yellow’s and orange, and then near sunset with blue’s purples and pinks. It’s the perfect backdrop for Engagement photo’s!

Their Winter Wedding is going to be at a really fun and unique venue in Downtown Phoenix; The Ice House Venue. So we knew there wouldn’t be the traditional Arizona Desert background in any of their Wedding day photo’s. Now they’ll have a lot of variety in back grounds between their Engagement session and their Wedding day portraits!

I love meeting my couples a few times before their Wedding day. We chat on video or meet in person in the very beginning to get to know each other, I then get to see them at their Engagement Session, and finally when the Wedding day arrives, we feel like we are old friends and ready to just celebrate together!

An added bonus to having an Engagement session before the Wedding date is that we get to get comfortable together, and my couples get a feel for how I photograph and prompt some poses! When the Wedding day comes you will remember which photo’s were your favorite and we can recreate them on the big day, too!

Deanna and Will said they have never had professional photo’s taken together… but I can’t believe it! They were naturals in front of the camera and their love was so much fun to photograph! The genuine smiles and giggles as they interacted and had time to just *be*, together stole the show. The beauty surrounding them was pretty and all, but their love and connection in the images is what draws me in the most.

To the most adorable couple,

I am so excited for your Wedding day and so thankful that you chose me to photograph such beautiful memories in your life! We are going to have an absolute blast celebrating you two!!
